Dr. Justin graduated from Mangalore University and later completed his Post Graduation from Dr. MGR medical University. He worked in Coorg Institute of Dental Science as Senior Lecturer and Reader in the initial years of his career before he was offered a placement abroad. He worked as a specialist in the department of Endodontics, Ministry of Health, Kuwait for ten years. His job at Kuwait included training junior dentists. During that period he started using microscope and various kinds of loops and understood the need of proper training to ergonomically use microscope. As an extension of that, he had undergone an advanced training in New Zealand in the field of Microscopic dentistry by experienced mentors. Having more than twenty years of experience in clinical Dentistry, he is currently into Private practice which he is passionate about, at his home town near Cochin, Married to Dr. Geena; he is blessed with two wonderful daughters.
The availability and affordability of dental operating microscope in India has witnessed a drastic improvement in the last few years. Our fraternity has recognized the use of microscope in endodontics as a necessity rather than a luxury. Microscope use in various complex endodontic procedures is frequently discussed and taught to the present crop of emerging endodontists. This presentation discusses the advantages of magnification and good illumination provided by scope for the restorative part of endodontics. So, instead of going into complex procedures, this talk will walk you through simple cases, the ones you encounter in your day-to-day practice. One can better appreciate and understand the use of microscope in these simple cases and how its use would give a better outcome for the longevity of the restoration. The Importance of microscope ergonomics also will be highlighted as each case is explained.
